42nd Annual Carmel Valley Garden Show

This exhibit has something for everyone. Cut flowers, container plants, and beautiful artistic arrangements (see below). A blooming rainbow of color from both amateur and professional gardeners. There is even a children's class which is always very creative. Every year it is exciting to see how many gorgeous floral specimens and arrangements make their way from our gardens and workshops onto these tables, to create this amazing exhibit.
The flower exhibit is professionally judged early on Saturday morning. Come by at noon to see the results. And don't forget to cast your popular vote! If you have submitted an entry, pick it up at 4pm on Sunday.
General Rules
- NEW registration time for all entries is Friday, May 6th from 3pm to 7pm at Hidden Valley an Institute of the Arts. Late entries cannot be accepted - please be on time so your entries will be judged.
- First 10 entries PER HOUSEHOLD are free. Any entries over 10 shall be $1.00 each.
- Competitive entries are open to all gardeners, including non-members, whether you live in Carmel Valley or not.
- An exhibitor may have only one entry in each class or subclass, but may enter as many classes as desired. There is no limit on entries in the Artistic Arrangements Section.
- Cut Flowers must have been grown by the exhibitor. Container plants must have been in entrant's possession for at least six months. All specimens must be identified by botanical and/or common name. No commercially grown plants are allowed except in the Artistic Arrangement Sections.
- PRIZES ~ Only one first, one second and
one third place will be awarded in each class
or subclass when warranted in the opinion
of the judges - whose decision will be final.
In class 90 more than one award may be
made. A Popular Choice Prize of $25.00
will be awarded by votes from Garden Show
visitors. Cash awards will also be made for
Best of Show in each section:
- Artistic Arrangements - $25.00
- Container Plants - $10.00
- Cut Flowers - $10.00
- Roses - $10.00
- Presentation of Awards and final bids on the Silent Auction and Raffle will be on Sunday May 2nd.
- All Plants and arrangements MUST BE REMOVED By 5:00 on Sunday, May 8th. No earlier exhibit removal will be permitted. The Carmel Valley Garden Association, Carmel Orchid Society, and Hidden Valley Institute of the Arts will not be responsible for loss or damage to materials, containers, etc.
